Welcome to the upgraded Azer Technology Web Site

This is a major upgrade of the Azer Technology web site.

At the moment there are lots of little problems with the new site - especially broken links and formatting issues. Please be patient. The work is progressing slowly but it's progressing and looking good.

The major benefits of this work are easier long-term maintenance and support for mobile browsers (both Smartphones and Tablets.) Here is a short list of some of the other changes:

  • The underlying CMS has been changed from Joomla 1.0 to Drupal 7.
  • Content (all written by me, Sam Azer,) has been moved from several of my web sites into this one site.
  • The Drupal 7 Theme that you are looking at is supposed to be compatible with a wide variety of Apple and Android devices. It should work well with Desktops, Smartphones and Tablets. Try it and let me know how you like it. You can get a sense of how well it works by resizing your browser window: You can see that the page dynamically tries to move things around to fit your screen - whatever the size.
  • You can now comment directly on most pages via the comments feature at the bottom. Please create an account and confirm your email address before posting. This requirement, along with the CAPTCHA included on the forms, should reduce the number of spam-bot postings (the CAPTCHA is the annoying little graphic at the bottom of the form - it is used to verify that you are human. You'd be surprised at the number of postings produced by spam bots.)

The hope is that it will be easier to maintain this one Drupal installation instead of several separate CMS's. Of course it may be a bit more confusing to have my personal ramblings mixed into projects and technical articles. Let me know if you have any suggestions about layout and navigation improvements.

As always I look forward to hearing from you. Please do try the comments and the new contact form.

Thanks!
All the best,
Sam.
